Hello everyone,
I make armor as a hobby and have wondered for quite a long time about one feature of Italian gauntlets. More specifically, about how a cuff was atteched to the gauntlet. Churburg S18 seems to be a good example of what I am talking about. Unlike earlier hourglass gauntlets, these gauntlets have cuffs made of separate pieces of steel. Can somebody answer two questions:
1) Are these cufss "articulated" " (sorry for my por English, cannot find a better word)?
2) How are these cuffs attached to the gauntlet? I read somewhere that they were attached by a single rivet, but this is too little information for me. I need more details to be able to make similar gauntlets.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
