I bought this piece at the tail end of a steel 'feeding frenzy' that occured once Vince unveiled his table of goodies !
Situations like these are not for the faint of heart *g*
( Since I was flying back to Boston I had Vince ship it to me, and it arrived yesterday afternoon !)

A few shots in hand ! *notice the wonderful knotwork carving up under the pommel !

The grip on this piece is not stained but oiled (lemon oil) and will darken as it ages (and with use) taking on that nice "old" look !

awesome........
You're a lucky dawg, Thom! Say.....the little clip-out on the false edge.......Is that period correct? I've never seen that on a dirk. Just wonderin'............MM
That's a beautiful new dirk Mac! I love the wood.

Vince really nails the scottish dirk doesn't he?
The knotwork is outstanding! I really like the contrast of the dark "cords?" of the grip and the lighter colored wood underneath.

First you have me appreciating the beauty of baskethilts, now dirks too Mac!..... :wtf: :p
Very nice Mac.I was blown away my his work at the bladeshow.Wicked blade profile!
Thanks, James, Chuck, Patrick, & Mark ..... the work Vince & Grace do cannot get enough praise !

Yes, there are many period dirks that exhibit that feature at the false edge !

Here are a few examples .........

Hi Mac. That is one gorgeous piece! Vince's, and Grace's, work is just amazing. I love the woodwork on the handle.
You're a lucky man.
