Im trying to find out what outer garment if any was worn by the Teutonic Knights leading Landsknecht and mercenaries during the late 15TH-early 16TH centuies.
Would they have worn Cassocks or cloaks, or some form of robes/waffenrock like other Knights of the period?
Everything I've read so far deals with only the earlier crusader surcoats.
While some stuff I've read online metions knights wearing the cross on clothes later on, no one describes what kind of garment.
I would also appreciate descriptions of uniforms of any of the other surviving Knightly Orders of that time period
