Well, almost...
Still needs lathering with Mink Oil (which should darken it a little), and the chape fixing on - but apart from that, it's done.
Many thanks to all who gave me advise here. I know it isn't perfect, and there are places I went wrong - hopefully I've learned from them :)
Any comments would be most welcome.

Looks good period. :D
Looks very professionally made to me.
wow looks great. where did you get your chape from?
As I posted on LH/UK, that's a grand job you did, Brian. So....how long before the rest of your Hosp. group begs you to make them each one? ;) :D
Very nice indeed. The only thing I can think of as a possible improvement would be to have a steel not brass chape. So that you match the chape with the pommel.

Thanks for the comments.
To answer some questions, it took around 4 months in total - but then I don't get much time to spend on stuff like this so its been made bit-by-bit so I can only guess at actual time spent - probably around 10-12 hours total.
And for the Chape, I got it from the Re-enactors market here in the UK.. I'm not totally sure exactly who but if I havn't mixed up my receipts, I think it was a guy called Russ Scott of the Viking Longship Experience. I can pm you his email address if you're interested.
