Looked extremely fun. Good group you have there, not too serious, but serious enough.(does that make sense?)
Thanks for sharing. It definitely looked like fun.

One question: you call it showfighting - is it scripted?

Thanks again.
cool video...:-)

but not want to be picky...the sense of this formation is to bring a handfull of soldiers to breakup the enemys formation without breaking my own formation. so you have to take care that your formation stands and not get messed up...
Cool; more showfighting!

It looks choreographed to me (the last few at least, not sure about the first). Here's a vid from one of our training sessions about a year ago (for our first big spectacle). I would be the guy in black with the thingy around the knee (we were training for an indoor show, so I was trying out some kneepadding that would be mostly hidden in costume).

The last link is a short film we made about two years ago, when the group was about a year old, so excuse the poor fighting and bad costumes please. I think those have much improved since then. We made this film for a french competition, hence the french.
Thanks people.

None of the fights are coreographed. A few of the fights had a predetrmined looser, like the first group fight and some of the duels. This was merely because we decided no-one would win two fights in a row, so if you win, you either step down or loose the next one.
The sword throwing was planned in a "I'll drop my sword, you throw me yours" fashion.

We call it showfighting because it's differnet from the regular "sport" fighting we normaly do.

Show fights tend to break up into lots of individual fights, since chopping people down from behind would make the fights way to short. (a typical "sport" fight can be over in less than 30 sec.)
The first line clash, which is not online, was a more convensional line clash with the formations holding up. (at least for several seconds :P)
Another problem making the wedge work is that everybody is so experienced, they know what to do when it hits them. So, if you are going to win a fight on this scale after making a wedge attack, the "spearhead" needs to break of and start killing people once its through.
The wedge is actually a formation for lage scale battles, but we use it for demonstration purposes on shows. In regluar fighting skirmish fighting it's never used.
Looks really nice for non-choreographed stuff (the non-choreographed showstuff I get to see usually involves two uninspired people standing around poking at each other until it tickles).
