I found this image on-line. I have often imagined that some Vikng and A-Saxon daggers would have had tri-lobed pommels like their sword counterparts but, although I've seensome cheap and doggy reproductions, I cant remember seeing any originals in my A&A research journey.......untill now. They probably exist in Scandanavian museums somewhere but thats a view that is not accessable to me at the moment.
So, have I had my head in a hole or does anyone else have any photos of lobed daggers from dark-age or even early medieval periods ? Do they relate to a specific time period or would they have reflected the changes in sword styles accordingly ?
