I've started too many projects recently and consequently havn't managed finish any of them. This one, however has finally got to a respectable stage.
Inspired by the work of Tony R; a somwhat gothic themed warhammer:
It's ground from a bar of 32mm square stainless with a shaft of Spotted Gum. Length is 65.5cm and width across the head is 24.5cm. It weighs in at just under 2.25kg (about 5lbs)!
Sorry for the slightly under par photos.
Nick.

Looks nice. And thanks for being inspired by my work :D
You have nicely continued the idea a bit further...by that I mean the langets and the hammerhead, which both look a bit more hand made than in my version.
How did you mount the head? I riveted mine through the langets, but it seems that you didnīt...am I wrong?

Nice job but why spotted gum of all things?
Hi Tony, thanks.
The centre third of the handle extends through the head to hold it on. This actually turned out to be a bit of a headache; the hole through the head is extremely rough but nicely covered up by the langets.
Martin thanks,
Spotted Gum is actually fairly commonly used for axe handles etc round hereabouts, that being Sydney, Australia. :)

That looks very useable! I wouldn't mind knocking some heads with that one. Looks great! :D
Thanks Gary,
Usable yes, if you've the strength to wield it for more than a few minutes. You're certainly unlikely to damage it; I dropped it spike first onto the concrete floor without making a perceptible mark on it.
