Could just be an innocent case of the person already having experience with the rapier, or even a case of the person being very interested in other swords much moreso than the rapier. I wouldn't take it as someone trying to be negative, just someone being honest.

Excellent articles, especially "call to arms". The explanations and interperations regarding Italian rapier combat were very well written. In fact so well written that even a novice like me could follow it without confusion. I was also very impressed with your review of the Darkwood pappenheimer. I've aways been a sword freak, but the rapier only recently grabbed my attention. Now the more research I do on the subject the more fascinated I become. :eek: I guess I'm doomed.
