For what is worth I've posted my solution to the display problem here...
Not invisible, but it needs no holes in the wall at all, and is quite secure: you can take the swords out but you have to do it on purpose, which for me is a valuable element of security.

Is that display case deep enough to hold a rapier handle, or is it better for traditional cruciforms?
