Funny to read advertisment for that event everywhere. I mean, may be nice as a sport, but any claims for authenticity are utter nonesense. The battles bear nothing from medieval combat, there are hardly any identificatable techniques from which we know from the vast number of medieval sources- which also is not surprising, considering the rules, which simply do not have anything to do the the goal you would have while fighting in medieval armour on foot.
What is really horrifying, is the fact that lots of pleople defend the claims of how historical the whole thing wants to be against anybody, and cheer about any news from the event.
I mean, I wish everybody who participates lots of fun and everything, but please be honest and truthful about the character of the whole thing, and do not pretend anything which you cannot deliver.

Medieval fighting simply was not simple, brutal hammering on each other's armour. Otherwise it would not have mad any sense in constructing or owning such.
Team USA's official first practice!
