Question about Celtic sword
Hello everyone, about a month ago I purchased Generation 2's Celtic sword and I've been pleased with my purchase. However, recently I noticed in some pictures where the sword is peened at the pommel. I'll try to find some pics. Anyways, my sword is not peened. Is this a forging flaw or an older model where they didn't peen their swords? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If not, who would I contact to find out why mine isn't peened?
I recently picked up one as well..and it doesn't show the peen either. ( and I've wondered the same thing too) You may want to contact Clyde Hollis at Imperial weapons. As the head man, I'm sure he would be able to tell you/us. He also posts here from time to time as well.
I just emailed imperial weapons about the lack of sign of a peen. Hopefully I'll receive a reply by some time this week :). I checked the forums on Paul Southren's site where I saw the picture with it being peened and interestly someone else has asked about the same thing concerning the lack of a sign of a peen.

Ha! That must have been me! :D
I have moved this topic to the Historic Arms Talk forum.

Please note the description for this forum:

"Discussions of reproduction and authentic historical arms and armour from various cultures and time periods"

Thank you.

Ah you must be ronin1 then :). When I first saw that I was thinking, "Well there's a strange coincidence". Well, most likely you/we will get a quicker response on the sbg forum because Clyde seems to frequent that forum at least once every couple days. Hopefully our swords are peened but it just isn't visible ( hopeful thinking ;))

I'll second that.... I'm sure we'll know something soon.
Hi Tim,

Seems we have the older model with a screw on pommel..
Thanks James. It's a little disappointing but I'm sure the sword will hold up fine regardless
