Alright on another forum, someone is trying to find out what this is, I thought I would post it over here as well... maybe someone has seen something like it before:

Well, I'll say the obvious. It is pretty similar to Arms & Armors Tudor and Medici daggers: http://www.arms-n-armor.com/dagg063.html, so I assume that it is an orignal or reproduction dagger from around the 15th century.

Why do you say the fit looks bad? It looks like a lot of detail work, some done well, some not so well. A Victorian imitation of a 15th century dagger, maybe?

Oh I forgot to mention it is my understanding that the threaded tang was not really in use until the early 17th century. So if if this one has it then at best we are dealing with a cobbled together victorian reproduction of a 15th century dagger....????
