Ooops, i think this is in the wrong place. Sorry! (Im not using my own computer... PCs are weird!)
I have moved this topic to the Historic Arms Talk forum.

Please note the description for this forum:

"Discussions of reproduction and authentic historical arms and armour from various cultures and time periods"

Thank you.
My first question, because I don't know the answer is: are bodice daggers historical or modern? I'm disappointed in myself for not knowing this since I was into costuming for so long and I'm into the study of edged weapons. I've always assumed that bodice daggers are a modern creation.
To the best of my (limited) knowledge, they are a modern concept. Certainly, several historical bladesmiths I know of are very disparaging of the idea.
Whether a "bodice dagger" or not, the old MRL replica scissor/dagger was supposedly based on an original. Anyone know anything about that?
