This Seax is from a grave filled with a blacksmiths tools and carpenting tools dating around 600 AD located in Jämtland.
I just wanted to share it with you guys!

Yes you do!
There is three 2 mm fullers on the blade and the blade is aroun 40 cm (total lengt about 50 cm. The tang suggest a glued handle without any "pommelrivet" for a lack of better name. It has a great visual presence and it´s a mean looking blade. The blade and the other weapons and tools are in mint condision and the man who found them acctually didn´t realize they where old until he found the spearhead and the seax.
How thick is the blade at the spine? I'm just curious. Wicked looking little cuss, that one.
A very nice seax! It looks very close to some seaxes found in my country (Netherlands), but of which I've only seen drawings. I'm also very interested in the tools associated with this find. Do you have any pictures of them?

It is about 7 mm thick!¨
I will go back to the museum and get better pictures of the whole thing later. I have asked premission and been granted the right to photograf this particula find.

Believe it or not, that's quite thin for these type of seaxes. The ones I refered to were around 9-10mm thick if I recall correctly!
