24 January 2004 Columbus, Ohio Sword Gathering
Hi All,
Just an update on the Jan 24th gathering. Time is still 6PM at the
Rose and Thistle Pub here in Columbus. I've posted directions
and maps below, but if anyone still has any questions, please ask.
Remember, no firearms, please leave the zweihanders at
home, and of course gloves for handling the blades is always a
good idea. First beer is free if you wear your kilt! Looking forward
to seeing y'all there! And feel free to email me with any
questions.
Alex
The address of the Rose and Thistle is:
1200 Chambers Road, Columbus, Ohio 43212-1703.

If anyone is interested in any of the following, I could bring them too:

Hope to see you all there!

Bring em all!
I've not been able to see many Del Tins, so it will be fun to examine a few close up. I imagine the AC basket hilt will be of great interest too.

Well, it looks like my wife and I should be able to make it down as long as we don't get any bad weather. For a first time visit to Columbus, is there any must see or do things? What kind of turn out are we expecting? Also, is there any motels in the area, or should we be watching for them as we come in?

Its a big enough city that there are hotels everywhere. Not sure if there are any big events going on in town this weekend but it would help to know where are you coming in from. As for attractions, it has about everything typical in a city of 1-1.5 million people.
Might try experiencecolumbus.com or columbus.org or columbus.gov for some information. There may be some other people around who are more current on what goes on in town that can tell you more.

You should definitely wear your great helm in the car as you drive over there....

Definately.
For safety.
And fashion.

Oops.....
I discovered a schedule mixup for this weekend and I won't be able to make it to Columbus the night of the gathering.
Hopefully, I'll make it next time.
