I have a sword that I have no luck to date finding out what it is, where and when it was made.
It is metal handled & metal sheathed.
The sheath's length is 745mm. The handle has a rounded flat ball(10mm deep x 15mm diam.) on the end, the hand grip is 90mm long with raised lines all the way down the handle. The sheath has triangular shaped wings. they're width is 55mm(to the centre of the sheath) being 110mm total diam. from edge to edge. the outer edges of the triangles are 27mm tall.
The blade's length is 735mm. It's width at the top of the blade is 13mm going down to a sharp point.
It has the name Stephen Simpson. Preston. on it.
It has celtic looking markings going 395mm down the blade & right up to the hilt. which include a cross 240mm from the hilt & a celtic band going around the blade 30mm from the hilt, the name is right under the celtic band. No date or any other numbers/lettering are on the sword.
I can email pics of it if reqd. aswell.

I received a little bit of feedback from another website that has a 'Ask the Experts' link. One person msg'd me back that it is possibly an AOH ceremonial sword (Ancient Order of Hibernians). He just posted a pic of another example of an AOH however, unfortunately, it does not have any similar styles or markings that I could see. The blade also looked to wide/fat than mine.

Any Assistance, guidance you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

My best guess would be a Masonic Templar sword (very similar in design, especially with the "bowtie" guard, to the ones used by European Masons today), probably made by a brassmaker in the city of Preston (Lancashire, UK), who also made military buttons (Circa 1870-1900) -- the same hallmark or "blackmark" appears on the buttons:
