I have wanted this sword for a few months, especially after having read the review in here of it, as well as having handled it last summer at the Bristol Renaissance Faire on the border of WI and IL. I'd been watching it's shipping progress on the UPS site and therefore knew it would be here today when I got home from work.
Lo and behold there behind the garage (sits in front of townhouse) out of sight was this long flat brown box. Got it inside, opened the box and pulled it out and said to myself "My God this IS the perfect sword!" Took a few pics, put it on the sword rack with my other 5 A&A swords and just kind of took in the beauty of it all.
Well, this is my big happy day and I love reading about other members big happy days as well, what a joy it is to get that sword we've wanted and finally the day comes that it arrives!
Thanks for listening,
Bob :) :!:
Congratulations Bob!
That's a big sword you have there. Looking forward to pictures. . .
Man those weapon arrival days are so nice! My name is Jeremy and I am a weapon-aholic. . .

Congratulations Bob, looking forward to seeing your Picts of it and your BIG smile holding it.
That one's among my favorites. Congrats!
I've had my eye on that one for awhile now too. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks so much to everyone! I could hardly wait to get home from work today to play with the Durer, in fact it's currently lying to my right on a table by the computer. Amazing how light and easy to handle it is, given that it's a half inch shy of four feet.
Happy Happy Happy

Congratulations on your new sword!! It looks and sounds like a great one!
I'm new here and am also interested in a bastard or hand and a half sword. I don't mean to hijack yor post but since you all sounded like experts I thought I'd ask.
Like I said I'm interested in the type but don't have quite tha much money to spend. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get for say $300-$400?
Has anyone heard anything about the Paul Chen and and a half sword?

Billy,
Welcome to myArmoury.com. Please feel free to post your question in its own thread to keep from de-railing this one and so you can make sure it gets a wider readership. Thanks!
Congratulations Bob, I've been thinking about that one too. I've got a custom project to pay off and then we'll see... :) Of course if Albion has their Bayeriches sword done by then...
I'm glad to hear that you finally got your Durer, Bob. I know you had been thinking about that one for a long time. Get us some pictures. I would particularly like to see the Durer paired with the GBS.
This practice of the delivery service, just leaving a box behind the garage, or a bush, or wherever, always drives me nuts. I am glad it was still there when you got home.

Thanks a whole lot Steve, yeah me too, that does drive me a bit nuts about UPS, worrying while at work about this $700.00 parcel being outside my house till I get home!
Billy, the best prices I have found anywhere are at www.kultofathena.com In that price range I suggest you stick with Cold Steel, Paul Chen Hanwei, and Windlass, not in any order of priority there.
Hope this helps you Billy,
Bob

I did some cutting of water filled gallon milk jugs tonight with the Durer, cut through those jugs so swiftly that each and every time the top fell on the bottom, which was 5 times. Slashed through those jugs like a laser, it was an awesome feeling!
I think I am in Love!
