Is the Chevalier at all based upon the sword found in this image here?

Yes, this is the primary inspiration for the hilt design.
The blade is still based on Xa.1 from "Records", the so called French sword from Wallace collection, London.
The blade is going to have hollow ground edge bevels, just like the original, and also have that special hexagonal point section.
The blade is really quite close to the original, but to me does not merit being called "reconstruction" as I have not handeled the sword. it will be very close however. I normally spend some time in admiration in front of this sword at the Walace collection each time I visit London. It is fabulous.
I thought it woul go well with a fancier style of hilt as well, thus the "Chevalier" to compliment the "Ritter" and "Knight".

The pommel for th Chevalier might well end up being cast in bronze as the primary design. The floral shape of the pommel would probably demand less mass than the original pommel on the Xa.1 (if not made very big). As bronze is heavier, is a natural chiose.
It might be possible to offer a steel pommel for those that really want this, as long as one is aware that this will affect the balace to some extent.
The guard will be steel, however.

So, since the sword will have a "special hexagonal point section", it should be better at thrusting than most other Xas?

It may be tht the point is finished this way since a change to lenticular would look strange.
It maight add some structural strength in thrusting.

The point is a bit like a sharpened screwrdiver with edges on.

I guess that makes for rather good thrusting (perhaps for certain medias/targets, like leather or padding?)...
While hrusting performance will depend on point, it is also very much a function of overall stiffness.
This blade would be rather stiff when compared to swords of similar type and mass.
Xa´s are primarily cutting swords however.
