I find 2 newly take'n photos of swords in my town's city museum online archive,
and i just want to know what type they are in, anyone who knows?

On the first sword:
It's hard to tell from these pictures what kind of sword that is. The blade is so heavily corroded that it's very difficult to say anything about this sword.
Looks like a 15/16th century longsword to me (mostly due to the pommel). Since I can't spot any fullers, it could very well be a type XVIII as you've pointed out. Doesn't look like a hollow-ground sword to me, more like flattened diamond cross-section. I think the taper is not drastic enough to be a XVa.
Is that a pretzel-crossguard that has partly rusted away ?

They almost look like borderline XVIIIe's to me.
They look's like a mix of C/E, blade style from C and hilt style from E :cool:
Sword 1 have B/W 5,4cm and B/L 97cm O/L 129cm
sword 2 have B/W 6,2cm and O/L 135cm
are there more letter's in XVIII typologi ? :)

It's hard to tell due to the corroded state of the blades. Heck, maybe we should send PJ to document them. :)

No, it dont look so what i can see, they are both 15th century swords,
Found in Dragmark, Marieskogs abbey ruin nearby Uddevalla who was Norwegian those days.
Wow, I that first blade is very interesting. Its great to able to see some of the binding impressions on the handle core.
Also, do you think the quillons on the guard have always been twisted or was that done later? It looks like they have holes through them so something could be attached maybe?
