I have been meaning to share these for a while. I finally got around to taking some better pictures, and a writing short review.

What is a hanger?

Purchased from Rob Miller, the owner of LionGate Arms & Armour in May of 2003. The blade has some scattered spots of pitting on both sides of the blade. The handle retains its original leather wrap, which was never bound with wire.

Purchased from an antique arms dealer at a civil war show in Nashville, TN in December of 2003. This hanger is in great shape, minus a small crack in its brass ferrule. The handle is vertically reeded. Handles like this were popular on military swords throughout the late 18th & 19th centuries.
Additional notes: Neither hanger has ever been sharpened & both are unmarked.
