Just bought some under armour " Brand " tee shirts, one sleeveless and the other longsleeved.

Supposed to keep you cool under hot and difficult conditions for general sporting use.

I mention them here because this type of cloth that wick sweat away from the skin is supposed to help keep you cooler when wearing a Gambison and armour.

Just bought it and wearing it now as I type and it does feel cool ! will wear outside tomorrow and to the gym and will see if it does the job.

Not " historical " for the LH people but who has to know what you have under your armour if it keeps you from getting heat stroke. :p :lol:

Those things were originally designed to be worn underneath body armor. I've tried them and think it's like wearing a garbage bag! Your mileage may vary. :D

Maybe my mileage DOES vary or they improved the product since it does seen comfortable by itself: I haven't tried it outdoors yet, we are having 100 F. degree weather and high humidity at the moment so if I use it tomorrow I should be able to compare to what being outdoors felt today !

Well the kevlar body armour is usually covered with some sort of plastic covering because wet kevlar looses some of its' bullet resistance. ( At least that was the state of things in the article I read about kevlar years ago. )

In other words kevlar armour doesn't breathe AT ALL !

A linen and cotton Gambison even with plate armour should breathe better than kevlar.

I will try the long sleeve version of " under armour " under my Gambison to see if it feels better than without.

You may just have increased their sales of underarmour and as Steve said it might be the abs ;)

With a lot of us there is a risk of looking more like an overstuffed sausage :eek:

It does seem to work though to keep you :cool: even if some of us won't look as :cool: as you. :lol:

Haven't done any real work while wearing it and haven't tried it with gambison and armour but it does seem cooler when I'm outdoors these days ( Could be my imagination, but it does feel less clammy than wearing regular cotton. )

We have been having very high heat and high humidity this summer: 90 degree to 100 degree F.
Think Washington D.C. on a hot sticky day.

Let just say that 90 feels like 80 degrees ? Not scientific :loll:

The sleeless and loose is very good as casual clothes at least and was comfortable at the gym, the long sleeve close fitting one is O.K. if you don't mind the super smooth feel of the fabric and this is the one I would wear beneath armour: you might still find it warm but it should wick away the sweat from the surface of the skin making you feel dryer at least.

With high humidity it might not work as well as with just a dry heat.
