Just got in from Morro Bay (photo intensive)
253mi round trip, got hit by the sleepstick pretty bad on the way back but at least I had 2 Power Horses left over to slam...Thanks ElJay for taking the time out from your Family to meet on your anniversary ! Next Year when ElJay sets the date it will be on a weekend SINCE we were the only 2 there (good for me :D ) We had talked that a Thurs meeting would be kinda odd day to meet and Morro Bay is a little out there in location for some people...Had another great time and got to handle some amazing antiques so much history right before me was a great feeling, like my Dad said when he found that right Remington 1858 from the CW "can you feel the ghosts?" Also, one of the really cool things was to watch ElJay make 2 Turks head knots sitting across from me at lunch, he made it look so very simple when I know from my once (and it will stay once ) time try at it NOT! Pics are still downloading...oh never mind I just lost them

Hey I found one of my pics! There was a fresh batch of these kids running all around this year. (edit to add) I have to go back and re-size all of my pics to 785 in place of the 800 I use every where else

nobody else in the way!
Hi Ben

Wow ... great photos ! (and thanks for that turks head play by play !)
Man, Eljay's antique swords are wonderful .... and do I spy a new E.B. basket in the mix !
I take it that the grip he was doing the turks heads for was for this one ?

If you have a chance, Ben, I'd luv to see these sword photos full-sized !

Again, nice job ! Mac
Ahh, be still my beating heart. This is the kind of eye candy that I love to see posted. Thank you, Ben! I wish I could have made the trip to meet you guys, but I was working at the time.

Cheers.
Hey Mac send me an email to infraredcoupe@gmail.com and I will send all of the pics straight from the camera which are 2560 x 1920 in size...I'll post a bunch more after I re-size them to the limited size...could you place what photos you like in the Albums? Ya that new ElJay all brass ribbon does stand out just a tad *g*. That is my latest that I'll shoot today. I had wanted something different from what is out there and having never seen a quailty all brass basket this is what I requested from Eljay, also this was the 1st all brass basket ElJay has made. I'll let ElJay post on it (since I also have forgotten the name of the steel historical version of it) The brass is just too cool ! And the other good thing is my wife absoultly loves it! It is nothing less that a beauty! So time to molest some ATrim swords to see what blade might go good with it *g* It was great to watch ElJay make the Turk's in front of me for the handle to the basket, so I got to see a tad bit of my basket in the making!

Nathan, no chance of calling in sick? Work? What is that? Next year it will be on a weekend so no excuse! The offer still stands for next year for 1person (only a 2 seater car) driving down from S.F of S.J to meet and ride with me there and back to help cut down on your long drive...and these photos only show a very small part of it....overwhelming in a great sword porn of a way
Here is just 1 of the boxes! Ahh what you guys missed...  It was kinda like going to museum that has a very good collection of antique swords on hand but this time being able to hold and swing them all around and not just look at them from behind the glass

Man, just another reason I believe I'm living on the wrong side of the continent . I can't believe there are so many of them in one place and in the open! As excited as I get over pictures of the originals I think I'd loose my mind if ever I got the chance to hold even one of them. I liked the pictures of the turks being made. It really makes you appreciate the folks who do that sort of thing. Thanks so much for the pics.

WOW :wtf:
E-mail sent, thanks Ben !

Ah yes, now I remember ..... you'd told me that you were having Eljay make you a brass ribbon hilt !
So that's it ..... very cool !
I look forward to your report on it, and of course lots of photos ;-)

Must have been a blast getting to handle so many different antiques in one sitting, you lucky b@&#@*d !
If I had not been a coast away I'd have been there in a heartbeat ..... lunch looked pretty good, too :-)

Mac
That's a very impressive array of goodies! Wish I could have been there.
Looks like a really neat opportunity to get up close and personal with some really neat stuff. That's a rare occurance!

I'll take the one on the left or the one second from the right... :D
Beautiful photos Ben. Wow. Thanks much for posting them. Love the second one from the left!

I wish it'd been closer! Couldn't you move north-ish next year? Say SFO bay area? I would LOVE to have seen swords 1-4 and 9 from the right (Not a basket case :p ). That's a lot of history in one spot.

Huzzah!
