Arms and Armor made me a wood scabbard for my English Longsword a while back. I have had it for a few weeks, but just getting around to posting pics. Overall, I'm very happy with it, esp at the price point - the fit is good, and the suspension system works well and looks authentic. The buckle is quite nice - cast from a mold made using an actual historical buckle, and the chape looks nice as well.

It looks very well done.

I did not know Craig and the boys did scababrds(wooden core) and suspensions. That's a very nice package.

I really like the metalwork. That's very nice! I'd thought about asking them to do a wooden scabbard for my Milanese rapier that I'd ordered from them not too long ago, but I didn't really have the money, so I just decided I could get a scabbard some time in the future... your pics make me regret that. :p

I knew they did historic scabbards, but I didn't know what they looked like... Well, at least not for the 15th century stuff, they have a picture of one for the 12th century sword on their site. That looks very well made and quite beautiful. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks guys - I like it. The price is just a bit over that of Albion's Campaign scabbards, and the quality is comparable, (I think) - some things are nicer (the chape, for instance) and some may not be as good (the A&A scabbard edges are considerably thicker, and have more of a "rectangular" cross section than the Albion's Campaign line, which have a lenticular cross section that matches the blades - at least the one I have does). I imagine that the A&A scabbard may be sturdier, but I believe that historical examples are more like the Albion ones.

A couple of other comments - the buckle is nice, and the rivets on the belt are obviously "home made" (as opposed to the one on my Albion belt which is modern), they look like a small ring was punched and then the "male" part was pushed through and peened over to create a rivet. A nice touch, I thought.

This is a fairly new offering from A&A, and while these scabbards may not (yet) match the historical detail of their swords, I like the look very much - a "custom" feel without the hefty price tag.
