This is just a heads-up to those of you either looking for your first sword or for a pretty replica of one of the Type XVIII swords illustrated in Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword. MRL is selling off their remaining stock of this sword for $94 each! Although I know nothing about the quality of this weapon, I've always admired the look and would be all over this deal if I were not restricting myself to the 16th and 17th centuries. This one, with its brass hilt (original is bronze) would be gorgeous antiqued. At least superficially, it appears to be a good attempt at replicating the weapon shown in Oakeshott's book (to compare with original, see download below photo of replica).
