Assuming that all six Albion Next Next Gen swords were available, and you could only get one, which sword would you choose? My choice, which may change tomorrow is the Prince.
I originally tried to include the Viking swords, but the poll won't accept that many options. So this will only be for Next Next Gen swords.
In case you don't know which swords I'm talking about, go here -- http://www.albionarmorers.com/swords/albion/nextgen.htm

Love that Landgraf! They all look great but that one grabs me by the tender hairs. Now for the money ... :\
This is a difficult one to call-- especially as I am actually in the process of making a decision of which one to purchase-- but I am leaning towards the Baron. The Landgraf comes at a verrrrrry close second. I am quite partial (after these) to the Regent, but there's something about the clean and stark lines of the other two. When I eventually have money again I might be more inclined to go for a one-hander (the Solingen?).
I am in awe of the workmanship of the Albion crew.

I can't even answer this as an intellectual exercise... (since I have no money, it can't be anymore than that, an exercise). I lean toward 3 of these very heavily. The Baron, the Landgraf, and the Regent. At any moment I could choose a different one.
And that is amazing, because I usually don't go in for those later period pointy swords quite as much as I do the earlier period
cutters...
Now if you'd been able to stick the Viking swords in there, I'd still have had the same trouble. Can't really decide which of them I'd want more (since I kind of like the Vinland and Gotland nearly equally....)
Sheesh.... it is torture not having any money. :(

As an addendum to the above, I voted with my wallet. I just put in my order for the Baron :D

I've weeded out all of the later, and earlier period stuff from my collection. My goal is to build a collection which illustrates the development of the medieval knightly sword, from the late roman/migration era up through the high middle ages.
As such, the XIIa is probably the next one I'll order, as it fits a nitch I'm currently trying to fill. That being said, I really don't see a design here that I don't like. The XVI (either one) and the XVIIIb are my other favorites.
I had decided that I wasn't going to bother with production stuff anymore, however, what I've seen of the NextGen and PJ lines has really impressed me. These swords are as good as a lot of the custom stuff on the market, so they're really blurring the custom/production line in terms of quality.
As soon as Albion fills my two standing orders we'll probably be doing business on the XIIa.

Easy to answer since I already ordered the Regent XVIIIb.
Next in order of precedence...
Squire XVI, Baron XIIa, Landgraff XVII, Duke XIIIa.

As I've stated elsewhere, "The Squire" is a design I've been looking for a while now. I too have voted with my wallet and have reserved myself a Squire (within minutes of seeing PJ's drawings, I might add!). Now, all I have to deal with is the agony of waiting.......
I'm really interested to see how the Prince turns out -- it's difficult to guess how the final pommel/crossguard will look from the drawing. I'm also looking forward to the Baron, though I have a XIIa that I'm happy with.

:D Heh...
When I get back to Albion, I am most definately gonna see about picking up a Regent... Man that is one sweet sword. Before that I was dreaming of a Crecy...

Albion just added two Xa's and a XXa to their list, so this poll is out of date. Even more to come?

Yep, doh! I like the newly added Viceroy XXa. No money though...
Well, I voted for the poll a few days ago. This morning I voted in a more substantial way by reserving
a Duke. The Baron and Landgraff also caught my eye, and now I see they've added some more.
Fortunately the Duke is still the one I like the best. <Sigh> So many swords, so little money.

Arrgghhh...more swords... no money..... yeesh... Well, as a further bit of intellectual exercise I suppose I should pick which one of these I'd buy if I actually had any money. It would still be a miserable choice, since all of them are nifty, but at this moment I think I'd take the Viceroy, XXa.... Too bad Albion isn't in the body part trade... I'm sure I have some organ or another I don't necessarily just *have* to have.... lol
I am going to break the rules and reply: The Gaddhjalt.
I like the transitional design: a good beefy blade but with some point on it and a spike hilt.

Good choice! I have already purchased one which should arrive (hopefully) soon. I will certainly post about it when it arrives. If I hadn't already purchased a Gaddhjalt, I would go for a Norman, which uses a shortened Gaddhjalt blade. As it is I plan to reserve a Knight next.

For me, it's a toss up between the Count and the Landgraf. Although they are very different in type something about them "speaks" to me! Oh..for the cash to buy both!!

Does anyone know the blade length for the Baron?

The Albion web page lists the blade length as 37.4", although it is also stated that dimensions may change as the swords are developed.
