I've been drooling over this specimen for a while now. After I finish with my filming and sell my extra weapons and other pieces I don't need, I am considering getting one. I have always loved the way the blued fittings look on the oxblood grip. I'd like to know a few things first.
1. How's this big fella handle? I've owned a few two handers in my day though I mostly focus on single handers. It seems to be a light sword (3.2pounds) and the POB is decently close, is this a true two hander in weight or would single handed weilding not be out of the question (FYI, I'm decently strong and have handled a few single handed swords that weigh more than 3 pounds)?
2. Is the hot blue color like in Nathan's collection from Albion themselves, or does it come in the more brownish color? Or does Albion do it however you want by request?
3. Nathan, do you want to sell yours?   Probably not.
My first order from Albion themselves will be an ADT5154 which I will be getting around Christmas time (what a great present! Since all my friends and relatives are pretty unimaginable, they all just give me wads of cash). Next I''d like a Crecy. It won't be my first Albion sword, I currently own their Hastings sword (which I love!). I wonder, is the Crecy really more of a longer, 2 handed Hastings? Just curious...

It handles fantastically, in my opinion. In fact, I think it handles exactly like that type of sword is supposed to handle. I've heard from somebody with less experience with historic European arms that it didn't feel as "lively" as they would have liked. This was because it doesn't have a balance point sitting at the cross guard, and is stiffer and more "durable" than some other modern models of similar profile available on the market.
When compared to the ATrim Type XIIIa that I had, and the one that I have by Phoenix Metal Creations, the handling is very similar, despite the swords being quite different from each other.

Each time hot bluing is applied, there's a different result.. a lot of variety can be had with this process, from dark blacks to bright blues and purples and everything between. Chemicals, temperature, and length of applied time all affect the color. The browning is a different process and is no longer offered by Albion. They also offer a good quality cold blue that producing a very black/ dark blue color.
Mine is a hot blue and has just about my favorite tones to it that I've seen. It's darkened over time a bit, and has settled into a very attractive and stable blue color.

Yes. I do. I need to sell off many of my items and the Crecy is likely to be among them. I need to find a way to afford the expensive purchases I've recently made, as well as order the other pieces that I have been wanting. Something has to give.
So when does the sale begin?

Now. Make offers!
haha
Fifty bucks and not a dime more! Joking... joking...
I'd love to get it, and I finally got paid about 2 months back pay from work because of an accounting error (which isn't much sad to say, I work part time, and it only added up to about 1300 dollars), but I'd like to think about it, I might send you a message after I sell my next sword which I am taking pictures of right now.

But I wonder, have you handled their Hastings sword? it's heavier than most other swords I've handled in that size range, but I love the weight of it. I was wondering if the Crecy is more of a two handed Hastings, or if it's a different handling class altogether.
And I know what they mean by lively. I have MRL's Albrecht II. Similar weight and dimension to the Crecy, but with a very low POB. I wouldn't expect the crecy to handle like that one though.
Ooo interesting. Okay Nathan give, what are you interested in parting with? :) If you would rather not talk about it here should we bounce down to the off topic forum?

Everything that is non-custom is possible. PM me if you're interested. It will take me a few weeks to get off my butt to post the stuff, but I just sold a rapier today cause somebody emailed me about it and saved me the trouble of listing it.
Hey Aaron,
I should be receiving the crecy sometime in the next couple of weeks (hopefully) i'll let you know what she's like.
