Well once again I'm back from the West Texas town of El Paso... for the moment. I've been participating in an exercise and I have to tell you gentlemen (and ladies too) that our military is both impressive in its capabilites and also scary in some of its short comings. I got to see a Patriot live fire exercise and that was something to behold!
Enough of that about the swords... you see while I was gone for the last two weeks I got a few in.
1) Schloss Erbach from Arms and Armor
2) Customized parrying dagger from Arms and Armor
3) Pole Axe from Arms and Armor
4) Lutel Kriegsmesser
Those are all the ones that belong to me.
Also I got a customer's German Branch sword. I'll be writing up reviews and impressions for all of these items whether for official release on this site or unofficial but informative release here and elsewhere depends on the piece and Nathan's interest in publishing the reviews. I can say... WOOO HOOO and I love this hobby. :)

Cool about getting all of the new toys while you were away. Let's hear more! And, say, some pics of the new Parrying Dagger from A&A? Or do we have to await "official" releases?

LOL!!! I thought I was the only one that remembered that song. I think of it every time I have to go out there. I'm not admitting to anything about any Mexican girls on the grounds that my wife would send me right back out there in a packing crate to be used as target practice for the NEXT Patriot live fire. There was this really scary hombre named Jose though....
I'll try to post some pictures tonight. The dagger is nothing extraordinary (well except that it is Arms and Armor and therefore always extraordinary work) I just wanted something to be en suite with my Bavarian Rapier and so had them make up a Bavarian parrying dagger.

Oddly enough, I have fond memories of that song - but I think it was from living in Egypt, of all places. Never been to El Paso.

Hey Mike,
That's one thing that you can really be proud of in your town you all have some outstanding restaurants. My favorite so far is the State Line Barbecue but The Great American Land and Cattle Company provided me with the best steak I've ever had last time I was there. Anyway thanks for the invite! :)

Spend a year in Iraq, and you'll definately have some stories about the latter.
And I too, caught the song reference. Now it is stuck in my head, and I will be forced to subject others to it all day. Fortunately, one of the shortcomings of todays military is that no one else is familiar with about 3/4 of the songs I know.

Since writing the above, I have thought better of it. I in no way meant to say that anyone is doing a poor job in Iraq or elsewhere or that there are an any serious problems with the military. No matter how long you wait or how much money you spend, the military will still be composed of people and equipment made and used by people. People will, from time to time, make mistakes, make poor decisions, and irritate the other people around them. Being stuck with the same group of people for a long time only accentuates this. What I was doing here was expressing my frustration with that circumstance, rather than making any kind of attack on a group or institution. I apologize to any who might have been offended by my statement.
As to the swords (which is what I should have stuck with in the first place): I have never really cared for the Schloss Erbach, but I have never handled it, nor (until the review came out) seen all that many pictures of it. I may have to change my mind. Seems like every time I find that one sword that I don't have to put on my must have list, something comes along that changes my mind. I need a bigger piggy bank!! :eek: :lol:

No worries. :) A&A's swords have a way of surprising you. You end up loving the ones you never thought much of as well as the ones you thought were outstanding.
