forecastles and sterncastles look nice but around the macedonian dynasty the byzantines had a thing going where they would put castles in the middle of their ships. they are unsightly and i cannot see any reason why you would do it that way. what are the advantages of a midcastle? since i do not know of anyone else who did this i cannot help but think it was a bad idea with few benefits
