Greetings,
any suggestions on cleaning both sword blades and hilt furniture, and polish them.
I have two albions (Reeve and Oakkshot) who are starting to show minor discolorations on their pomels or blades (not rust).
Nothing major but I would like to keep them in "almost new" condition - they are both very sharp.

I like gray scotchbrite pads combined with a little metal polish like Flitz, Metalglo, or something like that. I think Albion used to have an article on their site (still findable via a google search?) about oil and gray scotchbrite. Anything more abrasive than the gray scotchbrite pads will likely change the surface level polish. Green pads like used for pot scrubbing, for example, are a little more abrasive than the gray.

A fine buffing compound and a 6-inch buffing wheel do wonders to fix that sort of problem.
Takes about 20 seconds to get everything all nice and shiny again.

Be careful, though, a buffing wheel can throw things pretty far if your technique is incorrect.

Personally I am not a fan of having sharp swords flying at high speed across my workshop.

I use maroon scotchbrite pads- they are one step more abrasive than gray- but still very fine.

I sometimes use never dull metal polish wading as I have some inlay on some of my swords and boy does that stuff make the inlay POP.

Albion uses gray, as chad stated, so if you want to keep your swords absolutely consistent that may be the way to go.
