It's true, I can't seem to stop buying them.

On the other hand, I also have a nice case of swords: after years of shuffling them around, this year I finally splurged on a custom cabinet to display my favorites. It has lockable glass doors, LED lights, and also has shelves above for other stuff like my helms. It was not cheap, but less than some of the pieces on display, so makes sense, right? Only problem is, I still can't fit all of my favorites in here! So should I get another cabinet, or sell some of them off? It's a conundrum.

Well....to me a favorite is only a favorite when I wouldn't sell it, unless I run into serious money problems (Which you don't seem to have :))

More cases. :) In my case (not much pun intended), I have a single display cabinet that holds everything. I’d love a second cabinet and more items, but it’s not in the cards. So pieces move out when new ones move in.

I still have some place in my cabinet, you can send some over for safe keeping.... :D

Seriously: Ikea sells a cupboard called Pax, which has the option for really shallow drawers (Picture below, on the left).
Perfect for medieval type swords, knives etc.

For the odd saber or rapier you have the option for deeper drawers.

And if you still run out of space, you can always add more drawers! :D

Paul, re: Berserker. If you've been here a while you may have noticed I like writing reviews, but I'm seriously behind. Having kids at home for the past 6 months there is hardly time to get work and chores done let alone write reviews. Maybe in the fall.

Beautiful cabinet. Surprised you didn't put dividers in there to hold them upright. You could store more in there that way!

Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my keyboard... Lovely collection, and love the cabinet too! I have a similar but smaller repurposed china cabinet that I have some of my collection in. I drilled a line of holes all along the back and sides that I can press dowels into to make easily reconfigurable hangers. It works pretty well but inevitably I wanted to fit more in there than the wall space would allow and so now there are plenty of others in there leaning much like yours. Looks good either way IMO.

You’re potentially/not really thinking about selling by some off, and here I am with slowly saving funds, with the urge to get a new sword. Haven’t really wanted a new one for a few years now. Maybe by the time I have the coin you’ll know if you want to sell!

In the mean time, I am a FANTASTIC custodian.

I really like that Albion sovereign with a gold medallion on the pommel, do you have scabbards for your swords?

Very interesting story, a sword as the grand prize that's a new one for me :lol: The scabbard is indeed nice looking as well, IMO a sword is complete with a well suited scabbard.

With some more fiddling, I was able to get everything in...for now.
