Not posted here for a while but i thought i would share the mace i did a while back as i was inspired by on first posted here on MyA.
A project of many hours, trying to use hand tools and period methods as far as possible. Parts forged to shape, no welding used but copper and brass brazing, files not sanders and chisels not dremel. The mace is based on elements of a few different originals from museums and private collections. The goal was to create something which was my own but still true to feel and spirit of the originals.
Materials; C45, 5160 spring steel, wrought iron, brass, copper, leather and hemp cord.
Weight 1250 g. (Weight of originals 1150-1280 g)
Length 51cm, PoB 25cm from the top.

This is really fantastic and special. I hope I can get my hands on something like this one day. It is really hard to find anything. This actually might be the first one that has really wowed me.
