Timorese weapon of unknown name and use

Reading "The Weapons And Fighting Arts Of Indonesia" by Donn F. Draeger I came across a strange weapon. The author seems to have been unable to find more information about it. Does anybody here know any other source that mentions this weapon? Photographs? Maybe help me interpret Draeger's drawing better, i don't understand which part is the grip.

Interesting find. A photo of the actual weapon would be a lot better than this drawing. I don't think we could say anything about it without seeing the real thing.
