How thick is the blade? Very nice Valentines gift there. ( The Medieval equivalent of getting a can opener ........ LOL. )

I've been lusting after one of those (the dagger, not the wife!) for a long time. That's my favorite production rondel. Congrats!

Thanks guys. I think that A&A knives and daggers have to be one of the best deals around - for not much more than "lower end" makers you get A&A quality. I wish they would add more medieval stuff to their production lineup - a basilard would be nice, and a ballock option without the by knife and prick (though I love the set).

as for the "dagger or wife", just remember - if you get a pointy, then you have a pointy, but if you acquire a wife who will buy you pointies, you will have them for a lifetime. Or something like that...

I wish I could put that blade on my hilt. *sigh* My rondel dagger is probably the most beautiful thing I've ever made, but the precision and flawless execution of that weapon makes mine look sick. :\

When you order your dager, why not ask for a larger rondel for the guard. I tried a little one first when I made mine, but I found that when I used it like an icepick, it hurt my palm. So, I made the guard and pommel rodels very nearly matching in size. I think that might improve the effect and "presence" of the blade. There's pleanty of prescedent for it, after all.

Nice one Gordon! I think personally I would darken down that grip some. Any plans to do anything like that or are you going to leave it as is? I also didn't realize that it would be so thick in cross section although on reflection that does make sense. Now I want one of those too... :)

Do you have any idea what that grip is made of? I'm still working through exactly how thaey put that spiral in there...
