Viking sword with mysterious engraving
Hello
I bought this sword recently but there were not that many information with it.
It was part of a German collection apparently. I guess it was found in a river given the state of preservation.

From what I researched, it seem to be a sword from 950-1050 (and i would guess more 1000-1050).
Looks like Geibig Type 4 / Petersen X type.

Measurements are
blade lenght: 66cm
blade width at origin: 6.3cm
balance point: 9.5cm
lenght of grip: 10.1cm
lenght of guard: 16cm
weight: 1.3kgs

There is an engraving (and some rest of silver?) I am struggling to get given it was done perpendicular to the cutting edge (it is the first time i have seen an engraving not parralel to the cutting edge in the various books I researched)
I would read
R
+
A
N
A
maybe Rex Domini A N Amen?

any thoughts welcome
thx for looking
