Would the A&A warhammer also work for a late 14th century (1370+), or there a better choice for that kit.

Here's a warhammer from 1376. It looks like a longer, narrower shaft than the A&A.

I'd recommend against the Lutel. I have the "two handed battle axe" (link below) that shares the same basic haft as the hammer. The round diameter of the haft is 1 5/8th inches and, at 2.15kg (4.75lbs) is difficult to wield one-handed.The hammer is listed at 3.2kg (7lbs!) and would be even more of a beast (even if they accidentally transposed, that's still a 5lb hammer). I know they both say "two handed", but I still believe the weapon is over-heavy and has too large of a haft - if it were taken to a 1 5/8"x1" rectangle with the edges eased to make it a elongated octagon, it would have much better gripability and take out some of the excess (in my opinion, at least) weight. EDIT: I was incorrect about round shaft - it's ovoid, much like (and likely was cut down from) a sledge-hammer handle. It is leather wrapped, giving it the extra diameter that makes it a little unwieldy to grip.

I think you'd be better off asking A&A if they'd haft their hammer on a slightly longer shaft (they'd likely say "of course we can do that!") if a longer hafted weapon seems to be more the norm for the era. Just my pair of pennies. Good luck!
