Hi, I'm starting to dabble back into SCA stuff after four years away, and I'd like to make myself a pair of quality, accurate hosen to supplement my current crappy linen pair. I've made a lot of homemade garb, but I don't have any suitable fabric.
If anyone here has done the same, could you recommend a weight/weave of wool to use, and maybe even a vendor?
Thanks
Depends on the time frame you're shooting for, but generally a light to medium weight 2-1 twill fulled wool is appropriate.
I've actually had good luck with the Door Mill store for decent-enough fabric. You can request swatches from them to make sure the feel and color are what you want. My current chausses, tunic, and hood are made from their fabric. Herts Specialist Fabrics has some promising reenactor-centric product. I've never bought from them, though. [/url]

Thanks, just what I was looking for
