FOR SALE: Reconstruction of sword type XIV from Paris
Sword and scabbard are ready :)
This one is for sale.
One of the biggest type XIV in the world. Original sword was a kingly sword.
Pommel and crosguard are made form gilded steel. In the center of pommel (on the both sides) is rock crystal in gold plated cover.
Under the rock crystal is gold plated cross (E. Oakeshott described this: ancient woven fabric , in the form of the cross).
Of course I don't have ancient woven fabric and I used gilded silver.
On the scabbard is very popular pattern in 14th century (small fluer de lis).

... wow ... that's spectacular work, good sir. And great photography, I might add. I may not
always comment on your threads, but I ALWAYS look forward to seeing the step by step
progress of your work ...

I feel a little bad for a fellow forumite though ... somewhere Mr. Patrick Kelly is trying to sell
a kidney ... B-)
Excellent work! Thanks for posting in detail!
Any 14th century European monarch would have been proud to own this sword.

I've heard that Philip IV of France may have owned the original on which the Albion Sovereign is based. I bet he would have liked this XIV even more.

Isn't this the same sword Roger? (I mean the original inspiration; Oakeshott's Records XIV.8). Most modern replica XIVs seem to be based off this same basic design, but I've never seen one that replicated the gold plating before.
Get thee behind me Satan! Jaw droppingly good..
thank you very much everyone :)
This sword was the most difficult one which I ever made.
