Now, I make reconstruction of Alexandria sword from The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York).
Today I made engraved on the blade.
I plan to make 2 marks too. I mean cross on the one side and "m" one the second side of the blade.
When I do it, I will send the blade to hardening.

I'm rather confused... Does the original sword have hilt plates riveted to the tang? Looking forward to your progress, Mateusz!

I have noticed that a great many of the swords that were deposited in the Alexandria arsenal and were later transferred to Istanbul by the Ottomans, at some stage had new grips, a strip on each side of the tang, riveted to the tang. Whether they had lost their original grips or the new owners did not like them I don't know. But this is a common feature.

I plan to make the twins swords of type XVIIIc.
One is from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, second is from this movie (check the link) .
Swords are very similar.
I can see two main differences: pommels and inscriptions on the blade.

I have a little request for you: I need photo of inscription on this blade (I mean good quality photo).
Because I have to make exactly the same inscription.

- I made inscription on the seconad type XVIIIc blade.
- I made cross mark and "m" mark on the both blades.
