I am looking for a reproduction of a Polish 1934 Cavalry Sabre. Do any manufacturers make functional reproductions? Has anybody out there handled an original?

having this site translated from polish to english by algorithm, i was surprised to have a "vagina made ​​of stainless polished SHINE".
so obviously polish alike as german has the same word for sheath/scabbard and the female genital.
is this just a central european thing or does anyone know of parallels in other languages ?

Not unusual at all. Vagina is a word first used by Romans for sword scabbards and only later for female organ, not accidently.

Anybody ever hear of szablapolska.com? They seem to have a 1934 repro for about $875.00 USD. I was wondering if they produce functional sharps or if they produce dull replicas like many other manufacturers do. The site is in Polish, and the computer translation is rough. They say that the blade is hardened spring steel, but it does not mention hardness or carbon content.

I suspect that many non-English websites, in order to avoid translation fees, take advantage of online translators such as Google Translate and don't bother proofing the results too much. So you get somewhat... unusual translations like that on occasion; it's not the first time I've seen the term. I took Latin in school (years ago) so I recall the Roman meaning of the term, it didn't throw me too much, but it's kinda amusing :)

Anyway, I see Szabla Polska thrown around a lot when people talk about sabers. They seem to be recommended for training swords, I don't know about sharp. It may just be that they are one of the main sources, not that they're the best or anything. It may be worth your time to check the HEMA Alliance forums, as saber is a up and coming field of study in HEMA.

I never found who did sabers 34.
Kevin see the price, it is very small. A lot of work is a small price, not good.
Weight saber is large, the balance might be wrong.
