I don't know anything about this specific item, but here's my two cents worth...
The museum looks to have labelled it as a "streitaxt" or "battle axe"... this style is also often referred to as a "mordaxt" or "murder axe", particularly by auction houses. (please excuse any mistranslations)
I have seen a number of very similar weapons attributed to the smith Hans Balthasar Erhardt from Zurich, early 17th century.

Yes this is a "streitaxt" for sure, and im pretty sure its late 15th/early 16th cen.
For comparison, here are two axes in Zurich which the museum dates to around 1620. Not exact matches certainly, but the back-spikes in particular are distinctly similar. Many later Swiss polearms manufactured for town armouries mimic earlier styles from the 15th or even 14th century...
Don't mean to be argumentative, as I said, I have no specific information on the Bavarian piece! ;)

Those are truly similar indeed. So either the one im looking for IS late or it is what the late ones where inspired by.
