One of my last works - replica of Musee des Invalides reverse edge falchion.
Measurements of the replica are true or very close to original:

Edge - sharp.

This is really powerfull weapon. Can be used with both hands. I was plannig to do some cutting tests in Janauary, but I dont know if will have a time for this...

I just happen to have a couple (very poor) pictures of the original. It is bottom center in the first image and off to the right in the second. Sorry for the quality; hopefully someone else will have a decent shot.

yes, this is interesting - I was curious about the reverse edged falchions and that why I had to made it and check :)
this falchion is very representative for this type in my opinion - the proportions, basic battle style, no decorations - just effectivness.
and I realize that this is really powerfull weapon - combines the features of basic falchion, sword and axe in one perfect designed piece... actually it was quite popular weapon at its time - what we can see in medieval manuscripts.
the sharp edge has the point which can penetrate the helmets or other armour parts.
wide shape of blade make that weapon very strong in impacts - just like the axe power - but you can also swing and cut like with sword.
this is really something different, it`s very interesting experience of using this kind of falchion.
