Any ideas or views on the Windlass Chioggia Sword? Its on sale over at MRL. It sounds like one of their better swords, from some internet searches I did.
Thanks!
Bob
I shop for swords at Kult of Athena, and according to them. that sword is no longer in production. If you find one. you better get it now. Good Luck... :D ............McM

The Chioggia sword gets its name from the Battle of Chioggia, which saw Genoa being defeated by Venice in 1380.
No one knew which side used this sword during that battle.

From what I see, it looks like a passable replica of a Type XX. If you're willing to gamble with WIndlass's hit-or-miss quality control, it's not that bad for the price. Don't take the name too seriously, though; the earliest examples I know of from the type are usually dated to the 1420s, so I'm not sure why Windlass named it for a battle in 1380.
