A Burgundian Dagger of late XVth century style, with the typical octagonal roundels.

The single-edged 1075 carbon steel blade is etched with the saltire-and-briquet emblem of Burgundy and sports a reinforced point of strong diamond section.

The grip and roundels are dark brown horn, with a decorative brass strap directly inspired (both in aspect and making process) from the A48 of the Viennese Armouries that I had the chance to study a few years ago.

The vegetable-tanned, iron-oxyde dyed leather scabbard is hand-carved with a latin motto and rinceaux.

That is one beautiful piece of work. I love how the reinforced point is contrasts with the rest of the blade. Was it ground or hammered to be that way?
