I cannot seem to find any substantial evidence that Morrocan lamps and lanterns have existed in the XV century in the form that we know today (star and other geometric patterns, stained glass, iron frames).
Does anyone here have that information? If there were indeed such lamps in the late middle ages would it be possible that they were sold all over Europe, or at least Emirate of Granada in today's Spain?
That kind of information can be quite difficult to find, I'm afraid.
My rationalle would be that they were portable and eminently trade-able. There is a fragment of a Japanese bronze bell from the Thames foreshore, late 14th cent supposedly, so all things are possible. But never seen anything archeologically or pictorially. Always go with the usual, not the unusual imho.
