Not really my cup o' tea as far as swords go...but that is f***ing SWEET. I bet it handles like a Jedi lightsaber. Great job, Howy!!!!.............McM

It's nice to see Albion venture into compound hilts. I guess technically there has already been a progression in that direction with the Machiavelli and perhaps the Doge, but this one takes it into another dimension (literally).

That really looks nice with the simple clean lines of the early complex hilts. ;) :D :cool:

I'd really like to see a sharp version of this one.

It has some nice touches on the hilt, that are often missing. on other re-enactment/stage combat swords. I'm not a fan of the Maestro grip - if I buy one, I would probably have that redone.

So has anyone tested this model out? How well does it function? Are the edges thick and rounded enough? Is the blade stiff or kind of whippy or somewhere in between?

It would be interesting to compare the Marozzo with A&A's training rapiers, and with some of Darkwood's models.

I at first thought it may have shared it's hilt furniture with the Machiavelli (until I went back and took a look) and, while both are early compound hilts, they are a bit different. The Markgraf concept art seems to share certain elements, but also is not quite the same. It almost appears that the Marozzo's guard shares it's quillons with the Machiavelli, but it's rings & loops with the Markgraf. And I quite like all three! Now, to find that winning powerball ticket... ;)

I gave in to temptation and ordered one today. I should receive it in early December.

Peter Johnsson wrote at length about the Marozzo on Albion Facebook. He says that the last third of the blade has some flex, but the first half is rather stiff. This sounds great to me, since I will be using it for stage combat. Since there is no body protection worn for that, a little flex is a good thing. But I think it will be stiff enough overall to satisfy the Arma people.

Looks pretty good, pommel more complex than the concept art is seems. I think a lot of rapier guys are holding out for that Capoferro one. I am pretty committed to getting at least 1 of every Maestro Line offering one day.

I used mine for a Bolognese sword+buckler class at WMAW last week, and it handled very nicely for that.
