I think most of the Next Gen line are not direct copies of a specific sword but are an attempt to capture the essence of a particular Oakeshott type using an amalgamation of various historical swords. While strongly resembling the Templar sword you mentioned, I don't know if it is an exact copy, I would think that it is not.

The Museum line on the other hand are copies of extant examples, as I understand it.

Any 12th or 13th century styled sword by Albion could be used by a Templar.

The Baron is not a recreation of the large type XIIIa sword found in the Thames. But it is fairly representative of that type of sword even if it is both smaller and lighter than the Themes find. The coming Arch Duke based on the large double fullered blade that is used for the Tyrolean and Maximilian is going to be closer to the Thames sword in size and also type.

If you are looking for a sword that could have ben used by a Templar Knight, you have got some good advice. Choose any sword that is contemporary to their time period and you will choose a sword that could well have been used by a Templar knight. I do not think that the swords of Templar knights were any different than swords in general of that time. Sometimes Templars might have marked their swords with religious symbols or incantations, but so could other knights as well. Most swords would have been unadorned and I think that holds true for the swords used by Templars as well.

-I may be wrong about the general lack of special adornment, and would love to learn if there is evidence that this would have been more common among the religious military orders.

Some choices among Albion swords I would personally recommend are the Vigil, the Oakeshot, the Ritter, the Hospitaller, the Søborg or the Steward. But these are just some of my personal favorites.
