I have a thought to rehilt a number of old Atrim swords. Can anyone suggest any shops that might do such work? I'm looking at katzbalger and "simpler" versions of complex hilts such as side rings with knuckle guard. Any comments welcome!
Try Ernie Roesler at Yeshua's Sword. He makes all kinds of custom hilt components. I'm having a type X shaped/hilted by him and he's been very communicative/straightforward. His prices and wait time seems really reasonable too.

I'm sure Christian Fletcher would be able to do an amazing Katzbalger for you.

Christian worked up a katzbalger years ago. He used an AT1211 blade (definately my favorite AT Single Hander). Turned out pretty good. Unfortunately I didn't save the pic.
You might also want to try Darkwood Armory http://www.darkwoodarmory.com/ or Craig at Arms & Armor http://www.arms-n-armor.com/
Here's another vote for Ernie at Yeshua's Sword. His work is stellar, and his prices are very reasonable. He made a gorgeous fishtail pommel for my H/T Early Medieval.
Hello,
Id second darkwood Armoury,
Scott is a nice fellow to.

I'm sending a sword in to Yeshua's for rehilting, though its a Tinker, not an ATrim. I'll let all of you know how it turns out.

Excellent, mine's just being finished. Right on schedule and looks gorgeous.

I'd second Christian Fletcher. I got the very first Borderwatch he made years ago, and it's using an Atrim 1415 blade. He did tremendous work, and I found him very easy to work with.

All though I heard Yeshua's Swords does good work as does Christian Fletcher, I will triple the vote for Darkwood. I own two of their rapiers and Darkwood hilts are second to none! They are like the foundation of the rock in terms of durability. Plus they have hilted several Atrims in the past.
