Landsknecht clothing?
Does anyone know of a website that sells Landsknecht clothing, or at least good instructions on how to make them?
This is the only reenactment group that I know of that does landsknecht, they make their own clothing and would probably be thrilled to find someone else interested in patterns.

Thanks Matthew I will try to contact them.
You always have the landsknecht forum at http://www.landsknecht.org/
If you need Landsknecht Sources you can have a look at my groups sourcegallery: www.landsknechts.com/gallery
I've made Landsknecht clothing for over 15 yrs in both Kriegshund Faehnlein and Heiligensturm Faehnlein in Southern California. Which era are you looking to recreate? Early stuff or later Pluderhosen style?

If you're looking to do early period stuff, it's mostly a very tight pair of pants that go from your toes to your floating ribs, pointed into a doublet with attached sleeves, although there are a lot of variations on the themes, especially once they start cutting the pants off at the knees or thighs.
I would like to add another question, I read in a description of a picture that they wore breastplates or sometimes maile under their shirts. Would they have full arm harnesses under their sleeves as well, because by the picture he had gauntlets on, but I could not tell if there was any armor under the sleeves?

Here are some preliminary notes I've collected on Landsknechts, in preparation for my own kit in the future; they contain some discussion and photos of armor:

It seems that because the Landsknechts were tactically differentiated from the very start, their costume and armor would vary depending on their tactical roles, and (as pointed out above) whether they were earlier or later period.

After you order your costume, let me know how it turns out! It's probably time I started looking into a purchase of my own.
