what manner of sword would be carried by a sword and buckler man of the Spanish tercios?
I think some variation on this simple compound hilted sidesword, the Serenissama that you can find at Arms and Armor. This one is Venetian, but the type was widely used. Del Tin and Darkwood Armory also make versions of this type.

Technically none, since the rodeleros were sword-and-target men (or targeteers), not sword-and-buckler men. ;)
