Birka style knife...
Here is one I'm getting ready to ship. 10" over all. Blade forged from wrought iron and two bars of 15n20/1084 with opposing twists. Spacer is from my shop 'hearth steel' from carburized wrought iron and then walrus ivory and birch bark.. Wood is Lake Superior diver salvaged black oak (old growth stuff that sunk in 1800s). And then a piece of mammoth ivory and a button of bloomery iron. All sorts of stuff!

Sheath is my latest attempt at a Gotlandic style. Metal is an alloy called 'nu-gold'... something pretty I picked up at a Jewelry supply... not sure of exact composition.

Very, very nice. Your work seems to be progressing well...
I, until moments ago, didn't love the period that is from... Nor did I think I'd ever like anything but mono-steel.
